September marks the end of summer and has the best of both worlds when it comes to the weather; the summer sun brings warmth, but the sweltering heat of the previous months disappears so travellers should find September a lot more comfortable. Average temperatures sit around 65°F (18°C) during the month, with highs that can reach 72°F (22°C) on warmer days. The lake provides lovely cooling breezes. Nights in Lake Como in September can get a little colder as low temperatures drop, but it should never fall below 57°F(14°C) throughout the month.

Will I be able to make calls with my cell phone while overseas?

Overseas coverage varies, so check with your mobile service provider. Many carriers offer international coverage plans, but keep in mind roaming charges may be very high. Ask your carrier if your phone will work where you are traveling and whether you will be able to get both voice (phone) and data (email/web) services. We recommend downloading Viber and WhatsApp on your iPhone so you can call or message for free. Make sure you are on airplane mode and your data roaming is turned off.
